why do I feel like I need to let someone go because it feels like they'll distract me from God?
As believers, our relationship with God is paramount and should be our highest priority. Scripture teaches us to guard our hearts and minds, surrounding ourselves with influences that draw us closer to Him and away from distractions or temptations. Proverbs 4:23 advises us to "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."
If someone in your life is consistently leading you away from God, causing you to compromise your beliefs or hinder your spiritual growth, it may be necessary to prayerfully consider distancing yourself from that individual. 1 Corinthians 15:33 warns, "Do not be misled: 'Bad company corrupts good character.'"
While it is important to love others and show grace, it is also crucial to prioritize your relationship with God above all else. Matthew 6:33 reminds us to "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
Ultimately, trust in God's guidance and wisdom as you navigate relationships and seek to honor Him in all areas of your life.
